The most massive super-AGB stars (at around 9 M ☉) are theorized to end in electron capture supernovae. The Chandrasekhar limit and their life Ī super-AGB star's core may grow to (or past) the Chandrasekhar mass because of continued hydrogen (H) and helium (He) shell burning, ending as core-collapse supernovae. Super-AGB stars emit most of their light in the infra-red spectrum because of their extremely cool temperatures. These cool temperatures allow molecules to form in their photospheres and atmospheres. Super-AGB stars occupy the top-right of the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram (HR diagram), and have cool temperatures between 3,000 and 4,000 K, which is similar to normal AGB stars and red supergiant stars (RSG stars). They have initial masses of 7.5–9.25 M ☉ in stellar-evolutionary models, but have exhausted their core hydrogen and helium, left the main sequence, and expanded to become large, cool, and luminous. Once you bring the Hermit back to the Whaler, the two of them will talk and eventually the story will conclude with a happy ending.Stars that have properties between Asymptotic Giant Branch stars and red supergiants Colour-Magnitude Diagram showing evolutionary tracks for stars in the super-AGB mass rangeĪ super-AGB star is a star with a mass intermediate between those that end their lives as a white dwarf and those that end with a core collapse supernova, and properties intermediate between asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars and red supergiants. Let him know that his brother forgives him and take him on board and head back to Ingfell immediately. Once you do, the path will be clear! Head back to Ingfell and let the Whaler know the deed is done before returning to the Hermit. Take the explosives back to the debris area marked with the yellow flags and you'll be given the option to blow it up. Accept and he'll give you some packed explosives. Before he accepts the proposition to move his brother back to Ingfell, he'll ask you to go blow up the debris that was blocking your path earlier. Head over to Ingfell and talk to the Retired Whaler, who will recognize the Crest once you show it to him and regret his actions. Once you get there, simply dredge up the Family Crest and take it back to the Hermit, who will be forever grateful you were able to locate the Crest and ask you to talk to his brother. Head through this passageway below to make it to the marked area. You also should be considerate of falling rocks in the area, which can end your game immediately if you're not careful. Be careful about traversing this area though, as you may run into a giant creature that can damage your boat, causing you to lose some of your cargo or cause your equipment to become non-operational. This area is impassable, so you'll simply have to circle the backside of Gale Cliffs to reach it. However, you'll immediately run into a problem once you begin to approach the area in the easiest way possible, the way seems to be blocked off by debris. The Hermit will mark an area on your map where he believes the Crest is. Accept this Pursuit as it will help you progress further. He'll ask you to retrieve their lost Family Crest to make it up to his brother. Despite the area collapsing around them and you offering to move them out, they'll mention how returning back home to Ingfell is too difficult after having a falling out between him and his brother. Dock at the Ruins and you'll meet a Hermit living in the area. You'll notice that the relic you're looking for is hidden behind some debris, which can't be cleared. This character is recurring in every region of the game except The Marrows and they'll provide you with all the services of the Shipwright and Fishmonger, allowing you to make money and upgrade your vessel anywhere in the world. When you first arrive in Gale Cliffs, make sure to visit the Dusty Pontoon, where you'll meet the Traveling Merchant.
